About Northcote House Nursery
Welcome to Northcote House Nursery
Northcote House Nursery provides care and education for children aged from 3 months to 3 years. Our high-quality service ensures children develop socially, intellectually, culturally, physically and emotionally in a homely, caring and secure environment. When your child is ready, at around 3 years, they will move into our Bennerley House Pre-Prep.
The under 2 years’ environment is split over three rooms to ensure the children are receiving the correct equipment for their development age. Our youngest babies are based in a room with equipment from Mamas & Papas, which provides a cosy and stimulating environment for your precious baby. The remainder of the youngest age rooms are equipped with resources designed to stimulate children’s curiosity and imagination, including a Dinosaur Land and other areas to ignite your child’s interest.
When your child reaches 2 years old, or they are developmentally ready, they will move into the Toddler Room. The room has various areas of learning to encourage your child to investigate the resources and development opportunities available. This includes a Domestic Area where your child will begin to parallel play with their peers, whilst making or cooking their own recipe in play. The Toddler Room has direct access to outside play, and children are encouraged to flow between the indoor and outdoor environments, providing seamless opportunities for them to follow their interests whilst enjoying themselves in play.
We know that fabulous staff make a great Nursery and we pride ourselves on having a highly qualified, trained and skilled team. Staff are encouraged and supported in developing their skills by studying for higher level Childcare qualifications. All staff undertake mandatory training in Safeguarding, Paediatric First Aid, Health, Fire and Food Safety.
Our Manager, Kelly Walton, has a wealth of experience in childcare, and is supported by a passionate and committed staff team at Northcote House. Kelly and her team give each and every child the opportunity to grow in confidence and reach their full potential.
No one knows your child better than you, so our partnership with parents is integral to our way of working. We hold termly parents’ meetings ensuring you have the time to discuss your child’s individual needs and progress with their appointed key person. However, our ‘open-door’ policy means that parents are welcome to come and speak to us at any time. We promote home learning and encourage parents to participate and contribute to their child’s development, sharing information on a daily basis.
